If you live in a hot, humid climate, you’ll totally understand my sunscreen struggle. A good sunscreen can save your skin all summer long, while a bad one makes your morning routine feel like a total chore. I used to dread applying SPF because so many options feel greasy, thick, and sticky, making outdoor days feel unbearable.
After testing tons of heavy, uncomfortable sunscreens, these two lightweight Korean sunscreens completely changed my daily sun protection experience. Both have a lovely watery texture, perfect for humid weather. After using them side by side for weeks, I’ve clearly figured out my personal preference between the two.
SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum
This sunscreen feels more like a lightweight skincare serum than traditional sun protection. It has an ultra-smooth, watery texture that glides across the skin effortlessly. It blends out in seconds, sinking into the skin completely with no tugging or thick residue left behind.
My favorite part is its flawless natural finish. There’s zero white cast, no greasy sheen, and absolutely no sticky film on the surface. It just melts into your skin and leaves your complexion looking exactly like bare, healthy skin.

It holds up incredibly well in sticky, humid weather too. It never feels heavy or claustrophobic halfway through the day, which is why it’s been my daily go-to lately. I also love that it has no typical sunscreen smell at all, making my morning skincare routine feel so fresh and clean.
Price: Around $18.90 for 50ml Texture: Watery serum Finish: Natural skin-like finish Stickiness: None
ISNTREE Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel
Compared to the SKIN1004 option, this ISNTREE sunscreen is a little more nourishing, though still way lighter than classic heavy sunscreens. It features a gel-serum texture that takes a few extra seconds to fully sink in.
Once fully blended, it leaves the skin looking smooth, plump and hydrated, creating a subtle glass-skin effect without any immediate oily shine. It’s super comfortable upon first application and never leaves a chalky white cast.
One small detail I’ve noticed is its faint sunscreen scent, which becomes a little more obvious while blending. It’s not overpowering or unpleasant at all, but after using fragrance-free sunscreens for a long time, I can easily pick up on the subtle fragrance. Still, it’s a wonderful choice for anyone who prefers extra moisturizing sun protection.

Price: Around $18.90 for 50ml Texture: Gel serum Finish: Smooth hydrated complexion Stickiness: Slightly noticeable after blending
Between the two, SKIN1004 has easily become my favorite daily sunscreen. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but it’s turned sunscreen application from a boring obligation into a nice part of my skincare routine. Its weightless watery texture, invisible finish and zero stickiness are perfectly tailored for hot and humid weather.
The ISNTREE version is still a fantastic product, especially for anyone wanting extra hydration. But after experiencing the ultra-light feel of the SKIN1004 sun serum, it’s hard not to compare all other sunscreens to it.
